The drive is prone to fail and I wouldn't trust my data on it. The drive could be formatted and even write zeros to it, but it will not fix the bad sectors. Once in the DOS window, type chkdsk X: /F, where X is the letter assigned to your external TetraSky the drive won't be recognized outside the enclosure at all and removing it will void the warranty and case all data to be lost. The way to do it is: open cmd with admin privileges, start menu->search: cmd -> right click on it and select "run as an admin". You could try running chkdsk /r from the CMD in order to isolate those sectors and attempt to retrieve some of the info lost in those sectors. Unfortunately bad sectors cannot be fixed as they are physical damage on the drive's platter and no software can fix this. OnekillWalter your comment made me giggle sadly the error indicates that the drive has too many bad sectors and needs replacing.
